# Elysium Layer 2

## *<mark style="background-color:purple;">Elysium DEX & Layer 2 Integration</mark>*

* Layer 2 (or L2) can bring many benefits to a decentralized exchange (DEX) like Elysium DEX. A common application of Layer 2 is scalability, allowing the network to process a large number of transactions without compromising the security or efficiency of the network.

#### Concept:

* Layer 2 is an additional layer of technology that is added to an existing blockchain to increase its transaction processing capacity, reduce transaction confirmation time, and improve network scalability. Layer 2 is built on top of an existing blockchain and does not alter its underlying logic, but provides a way to process more transactions more efficiently.

#### Benefits: Layer 2 can bring many benefits to Elysium DEX, such as:

* [x] <mark style="background-color:purple;">Improved scalability:</mark> Layer 2 can allow the network to process a large number of transactions without compromising the security or efficiency of the network.
* [x] <mark style="background-color:purple;">Reduced fees:</mark> Layer 2 can reduce transaction fees by allowing more transactions to be processed in each block.
* [x] <mark style="background-color:purple;">Faster transaction speeds:</mark> Layer 2 can reduce transaction confirmation time, allowing DEX users to make transactions more quickly.

#### Application:&#x20;

* Elysium DEX will implement Layer 2 to improve its scalability and reduce transaction fees for its users. For example, the ElysiumDEX could use the Lightning Network's scaling solution to allow users to perform instant off-chain transactions and then settle final transactions on the main chain. This would allow the ElysiumDEX to process a large number of transactions more efficiently, reduce transaction fees for users, and provide a faster and smoother trading experience. Additionally, Layer 2 could also be used to improve the privacy and security of the ElysiumDEX, protecting users against malicious attacks.
